In 2004, upon opening our Boise office we were honored to be invited as one of the principal sponsors of the Gene Harris Festival. Gene Harris' signature hard-swinging piano style made him one of the most exciting and accessible pianists in jazz. Gene Harris set a high level of musical excellence that was both inspiring and influential. When Gene retired from touring he settled in Boise, Idaho.
In 1996 a group of business leaders, educators and musicians lead by Gene Harris made a commitment to improve the level of entertainment available in the Treasurer Valley community by forming the Gene Harris Endowment. The endowment provides scholarships for students in the jazz music program at Boise State University. In 1998, they continued their commitment by forming the Gene Harris Jazz Festival with proceeds benefiting the Endowment and its ongoing mission of jazz education.

Cooper Norman has been a proud supporter of the Gene Harris Festival since 2004. We have a strong passion for this Festival because it provides a great opportunity for young musicians and offers fantastic jazz entertainment and culture to our community. It is Cooper Norman’s culture to give back to our communities that support us.
