Below is an email we received after presenting the Thanksgiving Day contest winners their backpacks at Bickel Elementary School in November.

Hello,

I want to thank you for providing an opportunity for our students to participate in your holiday card contest.  The children look forward to this yearly contest and wait anxiously for the results.  One of my students is floating on cloud nine—he is so happy to be one of your winning artists.  He told me he has entered the contest every year and was hoping to win before leaving Bickel (he’s headed to middle school next year)---his wish came true this morning when “you” walked into our classroom.  Thank you so much for your generosity—both for the backpack filled with art supplies and for the money donated to the winning students’ classrooms. 

One of my student’s parents has agreed to teach one art lesson per month for the entire school year.  We (her and I) were getting concerned because all of the projects have a price tag attached and we weren’t sure how we were going to make the art program work.   My class now has $250.00 to use toward these art projects.  Thank you so much!!!
