Dear Clients and Friends,

At Cooper Norman we are continuing to do our part to help minimize the spread of COVID-19.  As such, we feel it is necessary to make additional temporary adjustments in our business practice for the protection and safety of our staff, colleagues, and clients.  We are making these adjustments effective immediately.

Virtual Office – We will close our physical offices to the public until the safety threat has passed.  Although our physical offices will be shut to outside clients, family, and friends, we will be operating via virtual offices. Our virtual office will remain open from 8-5, Monday – Friday during which we will be answering phones and responding to emails and texts.  We will continue our busy season schedule and continue to provide the highest level of service possible under the circumstances.  We encourage you to interface with our Firm using available technology.  Documents can be executed using e-signature.  We have Zoom for virtual meetings and ShareFile for submitting and receiving PDF documents electronically.  Please call our office if you need assistance with any of these tools.

June 15 and July 15, 2020 Deadline – The Federal April 15th income tax deadline has been moved to July 15th and Idaho moved the income tax deadline to June 15th.  No federal or Idaho income tax extensions or payments are required on April 15th.  Many states have not announced changes at this time.  If you file in states other than Idaho, please check with your Cooper Norman representative.  We will do our best to keep you posted as information is released from other states.  Please continue to send us your source documents and other tax information so we can accurately advise you on state extension payments or complete your tax return by June 15th.  Also note that payroll reporting and payments have not been postponed, only income taxes.

If you have any concerns please do not hesitate to reach out to your primary Cooper Norman contacts.

Sincerely,

Clint Tavenner, CPA
