CFAP Program Applications

On April 20th, we told you about money Congress had appropriated to ag producers to help fight the economic effects of the COVID pandemic (https://www.coopernorman.com/stimulus-money-for-the-ag-sector/). Yesterday morning, the USDA announced that beginning next Tuesday (May 26), producers who have suffered losses can begin submitting applications (https://www.farmers.gov/cfap).

Some items to note:

  • To complete your application, you will need to prepare an application, which hasn’t been released yet, AND make an appointment with a representative at your local USDA service center. They will begin making appointments on Tuesday.
  • In addition to the application, there are additional forms that will need to be completed:
  • The release also hinted that there may be other forms as well. We recommend at least being familiar with the information requested on these forms before your appointment.

The announcement also published payment rates for different commodities.

As always, please contact us here at Cooper Norman if you have any questions.
